About

Hi - I'm Juli
I'm an artist and designer living in Fort Worth, Texas. I create original abstract art with a variety of media including acrylic, watercolor, collage and more. I also design patterns inspired by art and nature for fabric and wallpaper.
I love the power of bright, bold design to transform a space! I enjoy having my home be a stage for showcasing bright and beautiful things that I love and have collected from a wide variety of different artists. Many of my treasures are gifts from loved ones that know me well. Curating these items around my home brings me so much joy, every piece has a story and it makes our house unique and fun for us and anyone who visits; a place I love coming home to.
I've been an artist and designer in various forms all of my adult life, always making things - jewelry, scarves, gifts, cards, painting on canvas and paper, painting furniture, painting my walls... For so long I would jump into making something I wanted or needed before considering buying it. My "real job" has been as a graphic designer for 23+ years, but making art has always been my dream job.
After many years of doing life, art started to slip away as things got busier and busier. I no longer took the time to make something because it would be fun. I felt like I never had time for art and many years passed before I awoke to realize that this was a huge gap in my life! The 2020 pandemic gave me the down time I needed to rekindle my passion for creating.
I still love to create art for myself, but I also want to share my expressive pieces with anyone else who wants their home to be a unique reflection of the things they love and that speak to them.
My interest in pattern design came from a similar place. Combining my knowledge of graphic design with my art making practice results in digital repeat patterns that can be printed onto fabric or wallpaper or many other surfaces. Many of the patterns I create start out as paint and paper which give them a completely unique look that can’t be found anywhere else.
If I’m not in the art room making art, I’m outside. Everyday I spend time enjoying the wonder of nature in my backyard observing the birds and squirrels, and time in stillness with my dogs. These peaceful moments energize my creativity and inspire me to make things where before they didn’t exist, just as nature does in every moment.
Thank you so much for being here, I hope you find something joyful or inspiring!
